Yvonne Washington - Vocalist Extraordinaire

From her debut at the age of 5, singing at the rodeo, to her performances in China, Europe and The Netherlands, "Miss Yvonne" has a voice richly influenced by gospel, jazz, R&B, Motown, Big Band, pop and New Orleans jazz. She recorded "Autumn in New York," the title tune from the movie of the same name starring Richard Gere and Winona Ryder. Giving up singing to raise her two daughters ("There were no nice clubs for a black lady to sing in at that time...") she vowed when they got older to never stop singing again. Sure, there are plenty of great voices out there, but Yvonne's voice comes jam packed with a personality to back it up and soul to keep you wanting to hear more. She wasn't born in Houston...but, we're glad she got here as soon as she could.
